Christmas Holidays

HO! HO! HO!

The familiar voice of Santa can be heard again. All the houses and shops are alight with Christmas trees, bells ringing and carols in tune. Shopping complexes, offices, bus stations, airports and many other places are adorned with Christmas cheer and festivity, all with the aim to attract the groves of busy shoppers preparing for their celebrations!

Christmas today is heavily commercialized, all sorts of people are cashing in on it including entrepreneurs, businessmen, investors, eateries, restaurants, mini markets and supermarkets, all contributing to turning Christmas into a sales gimmick and a loss of its true significance.

Of course, this is inevitable but the true meaning of Christmas must NOT be forgotten. It should be communicated to the younger generation, to let them know and truly appreciated this important celebration and occasion.

That is the birth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. In the Bible, John 3:16 it states that God sends his only son to save the world - a true celebration of our living God who cares and loves us. Christmas is about giving, sharing and love. Unfortunately these days it has become a celebration in the simplest of forms - presents.

Christmas is a season for all of us to remember throughout the whole year not only on this important day and to share the love of our family, friends, relatives and many others.
